Athletics: 11 Eagles Named To NECC Spring All Academic Team
The New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) has announced that 11 Daniel Webster College student-athletes have been named to the Fall Academic All-Conference Team. The Eagles were represented by four baseball members, two men’s basketball members, two women’s basketball members, and four softball members.

Three Daniel Webster College student-athletes were recently honored with the College’s annual “Distinguished Service Award” (DSA). The awards ceremony took place in the College’s ERC Gallery in late April.

Softball: Waller Earns First Team All Conference Honors
Junior softball standout Amy Waller of Berlin, Mass. has earned first team all conference honors from the New England Collegiate Conference all conference (NECC), as selected by the conference coaches and announced by the conference office today. It marks the third straight season Waller has earned all conference honors.

Junior Joshua Cosgrove of Sterling, Mass. (Wachusett HS) and senior Amanda Varricchio of Middletown, Conn. (Mercy HS) were honored as the male and female student-athletes of the year respectively, headlining the annual Daniel Webster College athletics awards night ceremony on Thursday, May 5th in the Collings Auditorium on the College campus.

Softball: Eagles Use Last Gasp Comeback To Grab Final Playoff Spot In Split With Wheelock
On the last day and in the very last game of the NECC softball regular season, the Daniel Webster softball team found a way to dig just deep enough and find a way to keep their season going.
Junior pitcher Amanda Wilson belted a double to score Theresa DiSantis from first base capping a two-run comeback in the bottom the seventh inning delivering a dramatic 5-4 victory over Wheelock College in the nightcap of a NECC doubleheader Sunday at Eagle Field that propelled DWC back into the postseason for a third straight year.

Lesley University celebrated senior day at Buckingham Field with a sweep of Daniel Webster, beating the Eagles 17-0 and 10-1, finishing the regular season on a 16-game winning streak after a 16-0 record in New England Collegiate Conference play.

Softball: Eagles Drop Two To Newbury
The Daniel Webster softball team dropped both ends of a NECC doubleheader Thursday, as Newbury College posted a 10-9 victory in a storm-delayed opener and picked up an 11-4 win in the nightcap of a five-inning game shortened due to darkness. Amanda Varricchio led the Eagles with two hits in each outing.

Schedule Alert: Monday Softball Postponed, Wednesday's Regis Tilts Cancelled
Monday afternoon's home softball NECC doubleheader with Wheelock College has been postponed until Sunday, May 1st beginning at Noon at DWC. Further, Wednesday's doubleheader at Regis has been cancelled. There will be no makeup date. Monday's baseball game at Plymouth State remains scheduled to be played.

Softball: Game Two Surge Gives Eagles Split At Mitchell
The Daniel Webster softball team split a conference doubleheader with Mitchell on Sunday afternoon, falling in the first game 11-0 before posted an 8-1 victory in the nightcap. All but two starters finished with a hit for the Eagles, and Amy Waller and Melissa Kelly had three hits apiece to lead the way in game two.

Softball: Waller, Chesnulevich Shine As Eagles Sweep Mountaineers
Junior Amy Waller went 5 for 5 with two doubles and two RBI in game one and added a two-run triple in game two and the Daniel Webster softball team combined for 32 hits on the way to a 15-13 and 11-1 sweep of Southern Vermont College in a pair of NECC matchups Saturday at a frigid Eagle Field. Freshman Courtney Brennan added three RBI in the opener and knocked in another in the nightcap as the Eagles won their fourth straight.

Amanda Varricchio went 4 for 4 scoring two runs and TC DiSantis continued to tear up the plate since returning to the squad, going 3 for 3 knocking in two as the Daniel Webster softball team topped Fisher College, 7-0 in the opener of a regional NCAA-NAIA doubleheader sweep Tuesday afternoon. Amy Waller added a 3 for 3 outing and Amanda Wilson knocked in two runs as the Eagles took the nightcap, 7-5.
