Nashua – The Daniel Webster women's lacrosse team dropped a 14-7 decision to Becker in a New England Collegiate Conference matchup Saturday at Eagle Field in DWC's home finale.
Ashley Mossey (Ballston Lake, N.Y.) paced the Hawks (6-8, 4-0 NECC) with seven goals and an assist while Samantha-Jo Dilkes (Little Falls, N.J.) and Mindy Moreau (Canterbury, Conn.) added two scores apiece. Alyssa Bond (Thompson, Conn.) registered a game-high six ground balls.
Kaylea Parkin (Red Hook, N.Y.) and Alexis Pavelock (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) led the Eagles (0-6, 0-4 NECC) with three goals each. Samantha Cotoni (Groton, Mass.) added a solo score. Eveline Lopes (Dorchester, Mass.) and Jennifer Fredericks (Beacon Falls, Conn.) led DWC with five ground balls each.
Shelby Wicks (Shaftsbury, Vt.) made one save for Becker, while Lauren Carrick (Pelham, N.H.) made two saves for DWC.
DWC took a 1-0 lead on Pavelock's first of the day 2:06 into the game, but Becker answered with four straight and never trailed the rest of the way. Mossey would notch four goals in the opening period and Becker led 8-4 at the break.
Becker finished with a 20-16 shots on goal advantage and won the battle of ground balls, 36-33.
The Eagles close out their season next Saturday when they visit Bay Path in a NECC contest beginning at 1:00 p.m. Becker hosts Regis next Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in both team's regular season finale to determine the NECC's regular season champion.
