Zamore talents have impressed his peers as he has earned three NECC
"Coach of the Year" nods including two in the women's conference
and one in the men's.
In just three seasons on the women's bench, Zamore
has constructed one of the premier volleyball programs in the NECC,
as the Eagles have posted a combined regular season record of 48-22
(.685). Over that three-year span, the program has set consecutive
records for wins in a season, increasing from 14 to 16 to 18.
Moreover, the Eagles have enjoyed remarkable success in conference
play, combining for an impressive 20-1 (.952) regular season
mark leading to three NECC Regular Season titles, two NECC
tournmament championship appearances and one NECC tournament title
- the first in program history - in 2009.
2010 was another memorable season as the Eagles went 18-8 overall,
7-0 in NECC play, and finished as tournament runner-up, culminating
with the program's first invitation to the ECAC New England
Championship tournament.
Over this three seasons, Zamore has coach 11 all conference
honorees and his recruiting efforts have netted the NECC
Rookie of the Year in 2008 and again in 2009.
On the men's side, Zamore serves as the architect
of reviving a program that laid dormant for 10 years and was
brought back to life in the Spring of 2009, posting a respectable
5-13 overall mark including a 4-4 record in NECC play. The program
rose to greater heights in 2010, finishing 9-12 overall, 6-2 in
NECC play, and 8-8 in the highly competitive NECVA New
England Division.
The squad has qualified for two successive NECC post-season
championship tournaments, advancing to the 2010 final. Along the
way, Zamore has coached four NECC all conference honorees and one
NECVA all star.
Zamore joined DWC after serving as head coach of the men's and
women's volleyball programs as well as assistant to the athletic
director at Central Maine Community College in Auburn, Maine.
A native of Chesterfield, N.H., Zamore is a 2007 graduate of the
University of Southern Maine (USM), where he earned a degree in
Communication. He founded, played for four seasons, and served as
Head Coach of the Huskies men's volleyball club program.
Zamore served two seasons as assistant varsity coach and head coach
of the junior varsity program at Gorham (Maine) High School and
later served as Head Coach of the varsity team in 2006. During his
tenure, Gorham earned three straight playoff appearances including
two appearances in the conference championship game.
Along with his Gorham High experience, Zamore also served three
seasons as head coach of the Portland North (Maine) Junior Olympics
18 and 16 year old girls' programs, and also served one season as a
volunteer assistant coach of the USM women's varsity program.
Ashley Snell begins her first season as assistant coach with the Eagles in 2011.
Snell is a 2008 graduate of Rivier College where she was a four-year letter winner and remains among the top 10 in all time games played for the Raiders. Snell also sits among the top 20 in of all time season leaders for service aces, digs and assists, was part of a program that earned three 20-win seasons, four straight appearances in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) tournament championship, and two GNAC titles and NCAA tournament berths in both 2007 and 2008.
